Gyros

Gyros are Greek meatballs made of ground beef or lamb seasoned with oregano, garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. They can be served as an appetizer, snack, or main dish.

Gyros mostly consist of cooked meat from a vertical spit. Typically, the meat is chicken or pork. Gyros with lamb meat are frequently found in Greek cities with sizable Muslim populations. It is typically served with fries, onions, a salad, and sauces, the most well-known of which is tzatziki, on a piece of bread called pita that has been lightly cooked.
